Field Engineer
Norfolk Dredging Company operates a fleet of dredges throughout the East and Gulf coasts. Our specialties include channel maintenance dredging, beach nourishment and capital projects. We work for both private and government entities. The field engineer position is an entry level position that allows the ability to move into other positions such as QC manager, Site Manager, Site Safety Officer, and Project Manager. Travel can be extensive with this position; we typically work 15 days on/ 6 days off. The company provides housing and per diem for meals, as well as transportation (or mileage) for work related travel and for travel home for your time-off.

Starting salary for entry level Field Engineer with bachelor’s degree is an hourly pay equivalent of $65,000. If you have additional experience, salary (hourly pay) is negotiable.
Duties
Hydrographic surveying using GPS technology
RTK (Beach) surveying using GPS technology
Managing GPS positioning systems
Production estimating and dredge quantity reports
Engineering layout using AutoCad
Quality Control
General support of the project team
Required Skills
Experience not necessary. We will train you
Some familiarity with Excel and AutoCad
Must be Computer Literate
Knowledge of Surveying Basics
Strong Math Skills
Must be able to work on floating vessels
